About this deal

DO NOT launch the pcsx2.exe file until you follow the steps below add the nuvee plugin and create the inis folder. Inis takes place during the height of the ancient Celts, when history and legend are one and the same. At the end of the draft, each player has a total of six Action cards that were chosen in two drafts.

Action cards are discarded in a facedown discard pile. Players can look at the cards in this discard pile only when a card effect allows it, such as the "Druid" Action card. As mentioned above, the Brann will go first and then a disc is flipped to see which direction play proceeds. At this stage a player can pass (although if everyone else passes, the round ends), play an action card or claim a victory token if they’ve met a victory condition. Playing this game in 2020 was a mere coincidence. I bought Inis a year before it was played, and it went straight to another of my board game cupboards due to its size. Within, it became a hermit, concealed and forgotten until the faithful weekend in November. It was the day when I decided to rotate some games and crossing some titles out of my pile of shame.

Overview

Each player looks at his three Action cards, chooses one to hold, and passes the other two to his opponent. Leadership: Be the leader — i.e., have more clan figures than any other player — of territories containing at least six opponents' clans.

You step forward. You’ve always considered yourself a good chieftain, honorable and fair. You will make for a fine King. These new lands will be a fine land for your clans to flourish. You are determined, this will be your Inis. For your first game of Inis, we recommend that you play the discovery scenario. The rules are unchanged, but you must set up the game as follows: Deed tokens can be gained through certain actions and allow you to use them to reduce the victory target (i.e. instead of requiring you to have people in six different areas, you could have four with two deeds tokens). So it is any good?

End of the Game

Chieftain: The player who has the most clans in a territory. In case of a tie for most clans in a territory, there is no chieftain. The chieftain receives that territory's Advantage card during the Assembly phase. The action cards fall into two types, Triskel and Season. Season cards are those you can play as your action, which will generally allow you to recruit troops in some manner, move your clans (which may start a battle), explore a new tile on the map or gain an epic deed card.

Marc: I actually never noticed that. Things are starting to make so much more sense… Maybe it’s because, moreso than the other two, Inis simply isn’t a “wargame”, per se. The clan figures are basically placeholders to emphasize the card play. The Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan series was developed by iNiS Corporation exclusively for the Nintendo DS system and published by Nintendo. It consists of the Japan-exclusive Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan duology and its international counterpart, Elite Beat Agents, which contains the same gameplay but had its characters and themes adapted to fit a Western audience. Each figure is a clan. Each player has 12 figures of one color. There are multiple sculpts, but the different sculpts do not affect gameplay. If a player has all 12 of his figures on the board, he cannot recruit more clans until some of them have been returned to his reserve. Buildings iNiS, which is actually an acronym for "Infinite Noise of the Inner Soul," is a Japanese game development company responsible for a variety of well-known music/rhythm games. The company was initially founded on February 3, 1997 by Keiichi Yano, and is based in Tokyo, Japan. Since the company's conception, they have developed games and engines for a variety of platforms, including the Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Portable. Finally, each player adds the two cards he held to the two cards passed to him. He looks at all four Action cards, chooses three to hold, and passes the other one to the next player. The degree to which a player meets a victory condition is not important, but the total number of victory conditions met is important. For example, if two players meet the "territories" victory condition (one player being present in six territories while the other is present in eight), both are tied and equally considered to have met the victory condition.
